Travel

We love to travel. Up until now our travel has been limited to work or pleasure. We are now adding LAMb activities to our travels! This blog will hopefully allow you to follow our adventures. Our thoughts, our views, dreams, and adventures. Follow along if you wish. If no one follows that's fine as well. It's just a place for us to remember . . .

We Are Here!!!!

We are here, relaxed, rested and ready to go!  BTW – We are being blamed for bringing SNOW with us!!!!  We didn't pack for SNOW!!!  But it is beautiful – just wish we could see the mountains!!!!!

We got started yesterday morning when we arrived at 5'ish a.m.  When we arrived in Bishkek, we got our visas, went through security, grabbed our luggage, and went out into the waiting arms of mom & Lynn!  Such a pleasant surprise to see mom waiting!  I didn't realize she was coming along!!!  We had a 90 minute trip to the apartment, got a quick shower, some caffeine and food, and was off to church within about an 1 ½ hrs.  After church a rest/nap time, then a meet & greet with the members of the LAMb staff with the contract signing ceremony with new staff members.  Wrapped up the day with dinner, a tour of Dayspring Family Life Research Center and finally bed around 10 p.m.  Whew!!!!

Church was amazing!  The music was sung in THREE different languages – English, Chinese & Russian – at the same time!!!!!  What a WONDERFUL & FABULOUS sound!!!  God is good and is omnipresent!  Makes no different where you are in this world of ours and He is present and understands all languages – how amazing and humbling is that thought.  Pastor Ken preached – in three languages – English, Chinese & Russian!!!!  Natasha, LAMb translator (and MANY other roles) translated in Russian and in the back was the Chinese translator.  Pastor got off of a 32 hr trip and preached with a translator for the first time with NO prep time – you would have NEVER known – he was like a pro.  God is here and in charge!  We met many people that mom & Lynn have talked about for years and the LAMb team was there to greet us as well.   I was so blessed to have started out my trip in church and to experience the cultural differences right away.

We proceeded back to the apartment for a few hours of rest, unpacking, and getting ready for the next phase.  Afternoon proceeded with a Meet & Greet with the LAMb staff.  What happened in this event continued into the evening with dinner with the group.  The Meet & Greet began with a contract signing for new LAMb team members!  As I think back about what each member said what it meant to them to join I realized how blessed I was to see it happen.  These ladies are the ladies running the activities here on the ground – working with their own – helping their own and working for the Kingdom of God – making a difference for their own.  The rest of the time was spent with about 20 adults and children in the apartment with the rest of the LAMb team – Schooler's & Wright's.  All talking about their lives, experiences, and just having a blessed time together.

We ended the evening with a tour of Dayspring Family Life Resource Center!!!!  What an amazing way to end our first day here!  Getting to see the home for the 10 little girls that will be welcomed with opened loving arms!  Not having to live in an orphanage!  The house family is an amazing family and will bless these girls as they come into their home.  I can't wait for the Grand Opening next week and just around the corner from that they will begin to welcome the girls!

Our day ended just chillin' at the apartment talking and waiting to be allowed to head to bed.

It's Monday morning now – we all got a good night's rest and are ready to start our day!  Until the next blog . . .

Blessings!

Kim
