Monday - our second day came with changes to our schedule - nothing is set in stone here when it comes to schedule. We just have to go with the flow.
After a great nights sleep, we got up got around and prepared for a 9 a.m. meeting with Pastor Sasha of the Russian church here in Tokmok. Before the meeting started we found out our trip to the baby hospital was canceled due to the director being out of town so mom improvised and changed a few things around. No biggie but know that we are not in control but God is and He had something different in mind for us.
So Pastor Sasha arrived, we talked about our schedule with him and his church and where we were going to be ministering with them: church leaders, youth, couples, Sunday morning, teens. Some GREAT opportunities coming up!!!
Now it was time to prepare for our afternoon visits. First we stopped at the bazaar to pick up some supplies: apples, banana's, bread to take with us. While there we got to look around for a few minutes. It is so different from what we are used to at home but amazing to see all that you can find available. The market was big and we only saw a small portion.
We then headed for our first of two stops for the afternoon. We arrived at the Seniors Home around noon as they were finishing up with lunch. We brought bread and fruit to share with them. Boy were they excited to see the LAMb staff! We got to tell them that we would be returning tomorrow to serve them lunch. They are so loving and I am so glad to see them off the streets! I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring . . .
After we went to the Disabled Men's Home for a quick visit and to tell them we would be back on Saturday evening for fellowship time. We delivered apples and handed them out at lunch. It's hard to explain this place and I don't know if I really want to right now. It's sad, that's for sure. Some of the men met us outside and were all over helping to get the apples out of the car. They were so glad to see the LAMb team, hugs, introducing themselves in English ("My Name Is . . . " - so proud! Yes a story here). We were given a tour of part of the home, visited with some of the men with promises that we would be back.
The evening ended with a great night of Praise & Worship with Pastor Ken leading the worship at members of LAMb, Mercy Foundation, Russian Church group, and others. Once again I was brought to tears as I listened to songs being sung in three languages at one time. God is reminding me that He is SOOO much bigger than I can even realize. He is the same here in Kyrgyzstan as He is in the US. We are ALL worshiping the one true God.
What does tomorrow promise? I'm sure the unexpected! We will begin the morning with devotions and sharing and then head out to the Senior's home to cook for the 17 that are living there. We will give hand massages, sing for them, watch the perform, play checkers, play chess, whatever - just love on them and show them that we love them and that they aren't abandoned by their Heavenly Father.
I've seen this theme on other LAMb blogs and have begun to use it myself because it is true . . . EVERYONE should be treated with dignity regardless of how they look, how they act, how different they are from us. When it all comes down to it as Jesus said in Matthew 25:40: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." We are here to do His work. To minister to His people. To serve His Children. Regardless . . .
Afternoon brings a planning meeting with those involved in organizing the women's conference on Saturday and the men preparing and sharing at the leadership meeting in the evening.
Prayer request - Mom and Lynn have some big meetings planned over the next few days for Dayspring, please keep them in prayer and pray for FAVOR!
It's after midnight here and I have to be up early. I should sign off . . . Big day ahead tomorrow.
Blessings!

This man was SO proud when he introduced himself in English! He started taking the English classes taught by the Wright Family. |
This man LOVES Lynn! |
Just loving on them gives them dignity . . . so little means so much! |
